Karl-Heinz Kalbfell, above on a Laverda SFC 750 at Goodwood FoS 2010, died today (Saturday August 17) at Brands Hatch, Kent.

The very experienced rider became unseated during Historic Motorcycle practice and was hit by a following rider. He was pronounced dead at hospital.

Karl-Heinz was influential in European Motorsport since 1977 as CEO with Alfa Romeo and Maserati, as Boss of M Performance at BMW and more recently a Board Member of Lotus F1.

My thoughts are with his family and friends.
